City of Plantation: 2021 Art Search Competition for Students

ART SEARCH – A Visual Arts Competition for Plantation Students

The City of Plantation’s Parks & Recreation Department and The Plantation Junior Woman’s Club will sponsor Art Search – A FREE Visual Arts Competition for Students in grades K-12, from September 7^th – October 8^th.

During this timeframe, students attending Plantation schools or students who are Plantation residents should create a piece of art following the specifications in the paragraph below and then turn it in to Plantation Central Park. Entry forms will be available Tuesday, September 7th – Friday, October 8th at all Plantation community centers, Plantation Schools and on the Plantation website (www.plantation.org).  All entries must be turned in to Plantation Central Park by Friday, October 8th.

Any medium may be used with the exception of sculptures. All entries should relate to the 2021 theme, “Art Wild”. Artwork must be 12” X 18” (mounted size), must be labeled on the backside with the entrant’s name and phone number and must be submitted with an entry form. Only one entry per person. Please do not frame artwork or use stretcher frames. (The City of Plantation assumes no responsibility for lost or damaged artwork).

At a formal awards ceremony in November, first, second and third place winners will be presented with award ribbons and gift cards in each grade level. Afterwards, the winning pieces of art will hang in our community centers for one year. All other entries will be returned to each school.
