Jupiter Outdoor Center’s Bill DiPaolo to speak at Pack & Paddle Club meeting Monday, May 9

Bill DiPaolo, who writes the blog for the Jupiter Outdoor Center, will be the guest speaker at the Palm Beach Pack & Paddle Club’s meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, May 9, at the Okeeheelee Nature Center, part of Okeeheelee Park, 7715 Forest Hill Blvd. in West Palm Beach.
Bill assists in guided watercraft tours on the Loxahatchee River and Jupiter Inlet waterways. He also guides bicycle tours along the Jupiter Inlet Village.
The Jupiter Outdoor Center rents bicycles, kayaks and canoes and operated youth camps at Riverbend Park near Jupiter.
Bill also writes the blog for the Love Street Outdoor Center in Jupiter. LSOC offers boat cruises along Jupiter Inlet waterways, trips to the Trapper Nelson site and bicycle tours along the Jupiter Inlet Village.
Bill plans to update Pack & Paddle members on new and continuing bicycle and paddling adventures offered by the Jupiter Outdoor Center and Love Street Outdoor Center.
The Jupiter Outdoor Center adventures include Mangrove Mystery, Pedal and Paddle, Sunset, Yoga in the Park and Wild and Scenic Loxahatchee River tours. JOC also operates youth camps at Riverbend Park.
Love Street Outdoor Center tours include boat trips to Peck’s Lake and St. Lucie Preserve, full moon cruises, sunset cruises and guided bicycle tours along Jupiter Inlet waterways.
Jupiter Outdoor Center, which operates out of a chickee hut near the entrance of Riverbend Park, rents bicycles, kayaks and canoes along the Wild and Scenic Loxahatchee River. Kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding lessons are available. JOC is open 365 days a year from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Love Street Outdoor Center, which is also open daily, offers 30- and 60-minute boat cruises departing and returning from the dock at Charlie & Joe’s on Love Street. Private tours are available.
Bill DiPaolo is a former reporter for The Palm Beach Post. He covered Jupiter and the North County before retiring in 2018.
When not paddling or guiding tours, Bill, a native of the Boston area, likes to bicycle and travel.

PALM BEACH PACK & PADDLE CLUB
The Palm Beach Pack & Paddle Club, founded in 1975, plans several events each month for exploring and appreciating nature. Trips last a day, a weekend, a week or longer. They are local, within Florida and long-distance. Activities include kayaking and canoeing, backpacking, hiking and biking, snorkeling, car camping and wilderness or river camping.
In addition, club meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at the Okeeheelee Nature Center in Okeeheelee Park, with guest speakers on nature-related subjects and other topics of interest.

OKEEHEELEE NATURE CENTER
Okeeheelee Nature Center is part of Okeeheelee Park, 7715 Forest Hill Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33413. Go 1.2 miles west on Forest Hill Blvd. from Jog Road to Eshleman Trail (the second Okeeheelee entrance). Turn right (north) and follow the signs and road 1.6 miles to the nature center, which is in the back of the park.
