The Martin County Board of County Commissioners has voted to restrict beach access to Martin County residents only.

The Board voted for the change recently saying that it was to protect the health and safety of county residents.

These changes will affect access to county co-owned and managed beaches and will stay in place until further notice.

It is unclear how authorities plan to enforce the new regulation.
